Orthotics

Your feet are the foundation for your entire body, and they undergo a lot of stress over the course of a lifetime. Fortunately, one of the things that Chiropractors are trained to do is assess and treat injuries and dysfunctions of the feet, and one of the treatments that they may prescribe to you in custom orthotics. Orthotics are not a treatment for every condition, nor will they work for every person, so it is important that you see a licensed professional in order for them to complete a thorough analysis of your personal situation and see if you would be a good candidate for custom orthotics.

Orthotics are designed to help redistribute your body weight onto your feet, to help change the current loading pattern that is leaving you in pain. They do that by adding support and realigning how your foot makes contact with the ground. While orthotics are not directly fixing any biomechanical problems per se, they can help to give relief from conditions of the foot, ankle, knee, hip and lower back alongside a thorough treatment plan. Orthotics also do not last forever. Just like shoes, orthotics will wear out over time and need to be replaced every 6 months to 2 years depending on the amount of time that you are spending in them.

If you think that orthotics may be something that will help your current condition, or have more questions about them, please do not hesitate to contact the clinic and book an appointment. Before coming to the clinic, please take a second and check your coverage from your insurance provider as some insurance companies will require a medical note before covering custom orthotics.
